Electromagnetic Materials Program

The Office of Naval Research (ONR) Electromagnetic Materials Program develops advanced materials critical to the development of electronic, photonic, and magnetic devices. Current emphasis is on complex-oxide semiconductors for novel and high-performance electronic and plasmonic devices, and phase-change materials for RF electronics and photonics. Of particular interest is basic and applied research that could impact Naval programs in surveillance, electronic warfare, and communications. Emerging materials research that offers the potential for unprecedented functionality such as bandwidth, power handling, reconfigurability, linearity, tunability or other new capabilities is of interest.

Note: Proposers are encouraged to contact the program officer to discuss their research interest prior to the submission of formal proposals.
