ONR Global Experimentation and Analysis (E&A) bridges the gap between the Naval Research and Development Establishment (NR&DE) and the operational fleet and force by rapidly developing emerging technologies through operationally relevant experimentation campaigns. Conducted in collaboration with the Office of the Chief of Naval Operations (OPNAV), fleet/force stakeholders and a broad network of ONR Global Science Advisors and international partners, E&A designs and executes experimentation events based on relevant naval problem sets.
This collaborative approach accelerates the development and deployment of innovative capabilities, enhancing warfighting effectiveness and ensuring the fleet and force remain ahead of evolving threats. Through a robust analysis portfolio, E&A explores critical operational gaps to define experiment objectives that directly address the Navy’s most pressing mission demands, while also providing comprehensive evaluation and data analysis of experimental outcomes to drive future technology development.

Mission
The mission of E&A is to provide decision-quality information through experimentation and analysis to Naval Research Enterprise (NRE) leadership to inform future S&T investments. E&A supplies Naval Research Enterprise leadership with data-driven insights gained from operationally relevant, warfighter-focused experimentation events and analysis efforts to support informed recommendations on technology investment, development, transition or divestiture, which drives advancements that increase fleet and force lethality and ensures superior warfighting capabilities.
