ONR Global Santiago seeks opportunities to promote science and technology (S&T) collaboration of mutual benefit between the United States and researchers across South America.

The office, located at the U.S. Embassy in Santiago, Chile, is headed by a Regional Director and staffed by an Science Director for S&T, an Assistant Director for research and a Strategic Communications Specialist.

ONR Global Santiago supports regional S&T projects with three primary programs, the Collaborative Science Program, Research Grants and the Visiting Scientist Program.

All U.S. citizens visiting the region on official business with ONR Global Santiago require a country clearance. Military personnel and Department of Defense contractors should consult the Aircraft and Personnel Automated Clearance System (APACS) for country clearances; civilians should access the Department of State’s country clearance system.
