ONR Global Sao Paulo seeks opportunities to promote science and technology (S&T) collaboration of mutual benefit between the United States and researchers across South America.
The office, located at the U.S. Consulate General in Sao Paulo, Brazil, is headed by a Regional Director and staffed by two Science Directors for S&T and an Administrative Assistant.
ONR Global Sao Paulo supports regional S&T projects with three primary programs, the Collaborative Science Program, Research Grants and the Visiting Scientist Program.

All U.S. citizens visiting the region on official business with ONR Global Sao Paulo require a country clearance. Military personnel and Department of Defense contractors should consult the Aircraft and Personnel Automated Clearance System (APACS) for country clearances; civilians should access the Department of State’s country clearance system. Once the country clearance is received, ONR Global Sao Paulo will process the necessary visiting permits.
