ONR Global Tokyo seeks opportunities to promote science and technology collaboration of mutual benefit between the United States and researchers in the Far East.

The Tokyo office, located at the Hardy Barracks, a U.S. Army facility, is headed by an active duty Naval Officer as the Regional Director/Officer in Charge, and staffed with five Science Directors. Additionally, the Tokyo office is staffed with an Information Officer, two Financial Officers and an Office Manager.

ONR Global supports regional S&T projects with three primary programs, the Collaborative Science Program (CSP), Research Grants and the Visiting Scientist Program (VSP).

All U.S. citizens visiting the region on official business with ONR Global Tokyo require a country clearance. Military personnel and Department of Defense contractors should consult the Electronic Foreign Clearance Guide Web site for country clearance requirements and submit country clearance requests through Aircraft and Personnel Automated Clearance System (APACS); civilians should access the Department of State’s country clearance system. Additionally, all travelers must complete all mandatory U.S. Pacific Command (PACOM) training requirements prior to traveling.
