DoN SBIR/STTR

The Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs provide non-dilutive funding to a broad portfolio of startups and small businesses across multiple technology areas and markets to stimulate technological innovation, meet Federal research and development (R&D) needs, and increase commercialization to transition R&D into impact.

The DoN leverages the SBIR/STTR programs as a catalyst to grow and develop the defense industrial base, meet mission critical needs, and provide opportunities to established and emerging small businesses to perform innovative research and development and deliver state-of-the-art technologies to the Navy, Marines Corps, and commercial markets.

NavalX advances technological solutions for integration into defense systems and platforms using SBIR/STTR authorities as part of its product development process to solve complex Naval problems.

Navy and Marine Corps SBIR/STTR opportunities are publicized on the Defense SBIR/STTR Innovation Portal (DSIP). For more details on the programs, visit navysbir.com.

DoN Technology Transfer

DoN Technology Transfer (T2) offices across the Navy and Marine Corps help entrepreneurs, small and large businesses, and educational institutions partner with the Navy to advance their research, accelerate technology development, and enrich educational institutions. The DoN technology partnership specialists assist non-federal partners in obtaining access to DoN subject matter experts, unique facilities, equipment, and intellectual property through flexible partnerships, while protecting the proprietary information of its partners.
