The Advanced Naval Platforms Division is responsible for research programs advancing hull, mechanical and electrical systems, advanced logistics, Tactical Submarine Evolution Plan (TSEP) S&T, Platform Autonomy and Control, and the National Naval Responsibility for Naval Engineering. It provides technologically superior, affordable, warfighting capabilities for surface, including amphibious, undersea, and ground naval platforms, through investments in basic and applied research and advanced technology development programs for advanced power systems; acoustic and non-acoustic signatures; structural and platform reliability, maintenance, and life cycle management; advanced logistics; hydrodynamics; advanced propulsion; metamaterials; thermal system management, and autonomy and control of naval platforms.
