Boosting the Business of S&T: ONR to Host Industry Engagement Day on Aug. 28

For Immediate Release: Jun 04, 2025

ARLINGTON, Va.—To build new scientific partnerships, as well as strengthen existing collaborations to enhance warfighter readiness and lethality, the Office of Naval Research (ONR) will host an Industry Engagement Day on Thursday, Aug. 28, at its headquarters at 875 N. Randolph Street, Arlington, Virginia, 22203.

This event is open to technical representatives from industry with secret clearances seeking to do business with ONR. More information can be found at https://www.onlineregistrationcenter.com/IndustryDay2025.

“ONR is excited to spend a day with our industry to discuss the Navy’s most pressing research needs and challenges; set the conditions to develop new, groundbreaking capabilities; and identify ways to deliver capability that supports the Chief of Naval Operations’ NAVPLAN, the Commandant’s Planning Guidance and the Naval S&T Strategy,” said Chief of Naval Research Rear Adm. Kurt Rothenhaus.

“This exchange of knowledge and information will bolster the warfighting readiness and lethality of the Sailors and Marines we have the privilege of serving.”

The mission of ONR’s Industry Engagement Day — which will be held in a classified forum from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. — is to discuss and present the direction of naval science and technology (S&T) initiatives and programs across the command’s research portfolio; engage with attendees in pursuit of solutions to foster capabilities for the Navy and Marine Corps; and solicit feedback on ONR’s initiatives to rapidly transition these solutions to the Fleet, Force and Program Executive Offices.

ONR leaders and subject matter experts will deliver presentations intended to provide a well-rounded view of core and emerging aspects of the S&T programs, as well as capability gaps and transition opportunities that industry innovations could help fill.

Pre-registration is required for all attendees.  On-site registrations will not be permitted. Registration closes on Tuesday, Aug. 19, at 4 p.m.
